Adele-ism: Adele’s ’21′ Predicted to Notch a 23rd Week at #1 on Billboard
I’m creating a word — ADELE-ISM!
noun
1. the cherishing or pursuit of Adele’s songs
2. the practice of Adele-izing
3. continuous admiration of Adele’s voice and success
Experts are predicting that the powerhouse could move 200,000 more copies by week’s end on March 4. Last week, her album moved 297,000. Who was the last person who did this? Michael Jackson? Whitney Houston? Oh please, Adele — don’t die early!
From Billboard:
Adele’s “21″ album seems on course to spend a 23rd week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, so say industry sources. The set could sell over 200,000 by week’s end on Sunday, March 4.
It will likely keep Whitney Houston’s “Whitney: the Greatest Hits” at bay, which has been No. 2 on the Billboard 200 for the past two weeks. This past week, Houston’s album moved 174,000 (down 1%), while “21″ sold 297,000 (down 59%).
