Mark Zuckerberg: TIME’s Person of the Year 2010
How does it feel to be called as Person of the Year? What are the criteria or requirements to be one? Is it enough that you are once known by everyone that everything you say influences the livelihood of entire human being? Will this initiate pressure to prove that you deserve to be called one?
We used to see the familiar faces of American Politicians who either saved or wrecked Uncle Sam. So, it only means you got to see those grey-haired-getting-to-be-bald headshots with wrinkled and freckled skin on the annual cover of TIME’s Person of the Year. This year will be a little different. Still an American, but young, calm, shy and nerd. If you saw ‘The Social Network’ Movie, which showed the semi-factual plot of the founder of the most famous social networking site, Facebook, you probably know what I’m talking about.
Why Mark Zuckerberg became the person of the year? Well, he’s controversial and mysterious. No one could have guessed what is on his mind at this very moment that most likely will make mammoth changes on our lives. He made a great contribution in inducing the way of life of people who use his finish product, Facebook. No one knows when it will last, just like other networking sites that have been outshined by more creative and innovative sites. But one thing for sure, for year 2010, Zuckerberg grabbed the limelight big time.
