Is David Beckham’s career as England footballer over? England’s national soccer coach Fabio Capello broke the news to the TV network broadcasting Wednesday night’s friendly match against Hungary.

Fabio Capello on David Beckham:

I say thank you very much for helping me at the World Cup, but probably he is a little bid old.

Fabio Capello, upon realizing what he just said:

Did I phone him before I went on television? No. I think I will speak with him. We tried to speak with him.

Capello on 2010 FIFA World Cup:

If he (Beckham) is fit, I hope we will play one more game here at Wembley so the fans can say goodbye. End It Like Beckham.

Honestly, who is this guy? Well, he’s the freakin’ coach but he doesn’t own the f***’n country. I’m totally affected about it – even I’m not English.

Prime Minister David Cameron had no choice but to get involved. He said, pertinent to Capello’s statement:

I’ve learned a few things from this job in the first three months and one of them is let the England football manager get on with managing the England football team, and hopefully he’ll let me get on with running the country.

England will never lose David Beckham, that’s for sure.
