I must say, this is the most searched and discussed when we talk about earning from home or affiliate marketing. This becomes a cliche. But, is it easy to earn money from the internet? Are we going to literally receive checks or cash by merely using the marketing skills online? Let me answer that for you.

Perhaps, I’m probably not the best person or I may say, I’m not really earning big $$$ to begin with. I’ve been receiving few dollars, though – enough for me to explain to you and tell you how to start your own business online and earn big from it.

After three years of blogging and tons of attempts to be BIG online, I think it’s more than aptly comprehended that YOU and ME shares the same success and failure HERE. In short, I’m just an ordinary hobo who has extraordinary goal to be one of those BIG TIMERS!

How to make money online? That’s the start – you ask yourself, you Google it, you become curious about it and you landed on this page because YOU ARE EAGER TO KNOW. It’s not really easy. It’s not as simple as those internet marketers we’re saying that “As fast as within 30-day of watching my videos, you will earn $120,000 even when you’re asleep”! That’s crap and a complete hoax.

This question, actually, becomes so general because of so many ways that we can leverage and use to earn money by using our monthly internet subscription. Normally, people who are interested use blogs, websites and social networking sites to make money online.

Without further ado, here are the ways on how to make money online. It’s up to you which one you prefer to pursue:

Online Store: Buy-and-sell is the customary-Filipino way of doing business. When we’re looking for a niche, we always thought of “What to sell in the market?” Selling nowadays evolves and a fruitful result is doing the buying and selling online. One of the famous auction sites in the Philippines is Ebay.ph. Ebay.ph is a little young actually. This was launched in the Philippines last November 16, 2004, which allows the trading online in Philippine Peso and registration is absolutely free. There are other auction sites established prior to that, like Bidshot, but Ebay effortlessly conquered Pinoy entrepreneurs because of the goodwill uphold since 1995. Other e-market places are Auction.ph, sulit.ph, i-Negosyo and etc.

I joined all the auction stores mentioned, selling the same products and I was get hooked on the results of Ebay.ph in terms inquiries, visits, feedbacks and sales of course. Last April 2007, I joined Ebay.ph and although I can say I became successful, because I lucratively engaged on meeting other people and sometimes sell my products.

Doing business online is so much fun. You’ll be able to utilize your marketing skills, patience and communication skills. Meeting customers and sellers as well, is enjoyable. You become friends with them and can count on them anytime. I learned to provide customer satisfaction commitment.

Create your website: This might sound complex, creating a website. But the amazing thing about creating website, you can actually monetize your site, to the extent of selling them. There are so many cheap web hostings that you can afford as low as $3.45 per month. It’s cheaper than your In-and-Out Burger meal. B2evolution enumerated and compared the best and must-have web hosts that you can choose. But, if you’re going to ask, my bias self, I would recommend the domain registrar and web host in one that I’m currently using. GoDaddy, for me is the best!

There are also few free blog hosts. The most famous are Blogger.com and WordPress. I used these both and I can tell that choosing between these two depends on what are you looking for in a web host. Are you looking for an easy-ease of creating a blog? Do you want to be creative and you know something on HTML and you want to mix and match the templates? You must try both, so you can truly decide which one fits your requirement.

Blogger.com is created for those who purposely aim to earn from blogging. On its dashboard itself, it has a separate tab for monetizing your blog. And the cool part is, you just need to drag and drag the sidebars – Viola! You already have Amazon.com or Adsense on your website.

Wordpress, on the other hand, I must say, is for artists. This will literally compel you to learn how the codes are arranged, how the plugins work, and how to write like Shakespeare.

Google Adsense: This is the easiest and simplest way of monetizing your blog or website. But here’s the catch, if might take you a lot of patience, perseverance and posts before you receive the hard-earned check. Google Adsense is a kind of contextual ads from third-party advertising networks. The Ads that will appear on your site depend on the blog content. This suggests you to use keywords that will earn more visitors and more clicks from ‘em. One of the commonly use keyword finder test is Wordtracker. A specific word or phrase will be rated according to statistics on its popularity on the Web.

Affiliate Programs: I prefer to call it as ‘the SALESMAN’. It would be like an annoyance you encountered one afternoon, while having a good rest in your sofa, while watching your fave-telenova. All you need is a website, an interesting write up, preferably discussing a certain product or service and ads of the merchant’s offerings the products or services, which by the way the banners and links are already provided by them. The most popular affiliate programs are Commission Junction, LinkShare, Clickbank, ShareASale, etc. I signed up for Clickbank and Amazon.

Be A Freelancer: Freelancing is synonymous to our term “sideline”. However, this kind of work is in line with your profession, occupation or to any skills you possess that you’re good at, under no long-term contractual commitments. There are two main reasons why employers prefer freelancers to work for them than a permanent employee who’s been committed with his job; 1) Freelancers offer cheaper service fees and 2) Freelancers possess greater qualifications and skills compared with regular employees in the Company.

Freelancing jobs on the web mostly offered are for programmer’s web designers, web developers and other techie-related jobs. However, other freelancing jobs are obtainable while staying at home; article writing, article submissions, logo/icon illustrations, business consulting. Some of the freelancers offer their services to Getafreelancer, eLance and Scriptlance.

Invest in Stock Market: Investing in Stock Market is quite arduous to handle. It’s actually a legal gamble, I should say. You have to have your strategy, financial analytics, and will power to make it in stocks investment. I remembered watching The Street, starring Tom Everett Scott and imagined myself trading in stock market and making it BIG! Now, I ended trading in stocks and making it better.

In the Philippines, last time when I was still active as a stock-trader, there were 9 online traders available. It’s impossible for private individuals to just go to the PSE trading floor and buy the stocks you wish. Transactions are done in a broker-to-broker deal. I want to try to do stock-trading here in Singapore. But I find it possibly lavish because; 1) I’m a foreigner and I have no idea how businesses here go and 2) Quite big investment to start with. I’m guessing that trading here is more tense and expeditious, that I’m the only one who have no idea what’s going on.

The aforementioned ways are only few of the things on how to make money online. These work for me personally.

But, prior to this question on which one you’re going to choose as niche, before you make any big leaps and right away start this shit — ask yourself again, “Am I ready for this?” “Am I extremely devoted to do whatever it takes to earn money through the internet?” If yes, let’s do this! Good luck
