On the 9th of July, 2010 – I received a call from my boyfriend, who is undeniably an immense fan of basketball, particularly of Miami Heat and Dwayne Wade. He normally sends SMS if he’s already in the office or BUZZ me in YM if he’s online. But it was a goddamn call from his hand phone – it must be really important. His exact words were, “Baby, LeBron is in Miami Heat”. I can feel the excitement from him after saying that. And on the back of my head, I was really in depth thinking – “God, how does a Miami Heat’s play look like? Like a Championship game in some kind of Olympics?”
LeBron’s announcement was the most awaited and cheered report that has been speculated, criticized and adored all over the globe – or maybe except Singapore because they are not fond of basketball. The news became greater than the defeat of Germany from Spain on the 2010 World Cup Semi-Finals or even Paul, the Octopus, prediction, so to speak.
So, do you think Miami Heat will be the Champion next season? This shouldn’t be a question – it should be a statement. This is not an assumption or pressure that we’re going to put on these Big Three’s Shoulder. This is a default expectation if you’ll have the best basketball players of their time in one team.
Go Miami Heat! Get that goddamn trophy from LA Lakers.
