Rima, the daughter of Lebanese immigrants, definitely is stunning and beautiful while her name was announced as Miss USA 2010. The prestigious beauty pageant was held in Las, Vegas last Sunday, 16^th of May 2010.

Everyone is mesmerized by her beauty and marked the day to be historic. This was another event on people’s life that greatness of America is given to everyone who took the chance to make it.

Good thing USA has its representative already for Miss Universe. Unlike in the Philippines, the dethroned Maria Venus Raj is still making an appeal that she should be the crowned 2010 Bb. Pilipinas – Universe. Needless to say,  I lose hopes with the beauty pageants. As we go along, the benchmark of true Filipina beauty is becoming superficial and seeming – you must be mixed of ancestry like a semi-Caucasian, you must pointed nose, fair skin and long black hair. You must articulately express yourself and must adhere to culture that embody good representation of the country. In short, you should not be a Filipina, anyway!

Back to Rima, the 24-year-old brunette from Michigan beat out four blondes and 46 other women for the 2010 Miss USA title after nearly stumbling in her evening gown. She won the swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions.

During the competition, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train, but she recovered without a spill and went on to win.

In the interview, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should.

I’m wondering how my gay friends react to this major event of epitome of beauty that they dreamed of. Ciao
