Sarah Geronimo: Record Breaker

2009
09.23

Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes

What: Concert
When: November 7, 2009
Where: Big Dome
Who: Popstar Princess/Box-Office Queen/Multimedia Artist — the Record Breaker herself…. Sarah Geronimo!
Unexpectedly, I never experienced in my twenty-six years of my life, to be put into test on making a big decision. I’m wondering if this will lead me to gain a traumatic inhibition further and beyond my existence.
So, I learned that my extremely talented idol, Sarah Geronimo is having a concert this coming November 7, 2009. This whole idea is enticing a hell-out-of-me. Well, for obvious reason that I am a fan. I am a very proud fan.
Last year, I was totally decided to fly back just to watch the “The Next One” concert. But, I feel awful that the choice to be made is between my parents or my semi-homo-mischievous- endearment to the Popstar. (I’m kind of sound like a drama queen! Yay! ). Well, actually, I booked my parents to visit me here, instead….. like 3 months before Viva Concerts decided to launch a concert. Can they scheme important event like this beforehand? Like after New Year Countdown?
Babbling aside, I was extremely angry with myself that I missed it. So, I promised to myself and to my own grave, that I’m gonna watch, definitely, the next concierto. Oh man! Now, it feels like a déjà vu!. I bought the DVD anyway, but that’s unsatisfactory. ;(
So what’s the problem now?????
…………….. I DUNNO…………….
$$$$$$$$$$$$money is not the problem, anyway$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
——————————————————————————————————————————————–
To be honest, I’m outrageously broke. Why? Don’t ask me! Ask the temperamental substitute to stress and vomiting. Ask all the douche bag inventors, who insistently invent high tech gadgets that have nothing to do about saving the world or something. Ask the vacation-promo-spree that keeps on popping-up on my not-too-high-definition monitor. Ask the credit companies for letting me owe them money, even to spread the payments up to 24 months (I will be enslaved by the billing statement……… or maybe…. notices… if you know what I mean)!
This now leave me to choose: whether I wanna see Sarah Geronimo – my enthusiastically lost talented sister or to be more broke (broke-r! that’s corny). I did the math that I’ll spend; Php 7,715.40 airfare + Php3,150.00 concert ticket + Php 970.00 terminal fee (unforgivable gov’t obligation). My total outlay (or indebtedness) will be Php 11,835. But, the intangible benefit —— Lucid happiness >>>>>> nothing can beat that!
Gotta think….. gotta think…… Sponsors???? Any?
Well, if you’re a fan or soon to be fan of our dear Box-Office Queen, check out the ads by Viva Concerts and Events.
Look at the posters… Isn’t she getting prettier as ever???? Ahahahaha!

In My Life — Personal Review

2009
09.20

Reading time: 2 – 2 minutes

Cast: Vilma Santos, Luis Manzano, John Lloyd Cruz, Dimples Romana, Paw Diaz;
Director: Olivia M. Lamasan;
Producer: Charo Santos;
Screenwriters: Olive Lamasan, Raymond Lee, Senedy Que;
Genre: Drama;
Distributor: Star Cine Production;
Location: Manila/ New York;
Running Time: 120 min.;
This is a must-see movie of all time! I love Vilma Santos. Aside from the fact that she’s our beloved governor (I’m so proud, thank you very much), she’s a remarkable actress. I’m not so sure if it’s only me, but sometimes I thought she’s my mom. (Ha-ha! Love you mom!). Well, my mom kind of resembles Ate V.
This is not a typical Tagalog movie. Definitely, the banal comedy, unreal love teams’ twee Tums portrayals and reprehensible action stunts are sooo out. This is the era of creativity, reality and soul. If the film producers will not carefully act on giving Filipino viewers what their one-hundred-fifty-pesos-theater-ticket deserves, I’m absolutely certain the industry will fall. Why? There are dozens of impeccable foreign movies. There is also tons of Captain Hook, who continuously offering people affordable pre-screen-viewing. There are so many reasons and I bet they already knew about them.
Anyway, did I say I love the movie? Ah-ah! Indeed, I love it. I adore the story. The characters’ portrayals are incredible. The story mainly talks about the struggle and shortcomings of a single mom, a gay son, a gay lover, an OFW and a good son. To be honest, it’s quite a nightmare to explain the plot because there are lots of narratives that comprise the whole movie. There are so many unexplainable emotions that will suddenly burst while watching the film. It touches the heart at different levels; relationships, failures, redeeming yourself, dying and about life.
I’m giving this movie five stars overall. Kudos to Filipino Movies!

Grey’s Anatomy Season 6

2009
09.20

Reading time: < 1 minute

Everyone is waiting for the 6th Season of Grey’s Anatomy. I can’t believe that finally we’re so close to find out what will happen to Izzie or George! I really cried on the season ender. Inevitably, the whole world will cheer up (or maybe cry) on the 24th of September once this is aired.
Who will die? Oh my goodness, I want no one to die……
I so love the song…. Sink or Swim by Tyrone Wells.
Kamikaze airplanes in the sky
Are we going down or will we fly?
This could be a shipwreck on the shore
Or we could sail away forevermore
This time it’s sink or swim, sink or swim
I definitely can’t wait for this……….
