Top 10 Most Used Songs in American Idol

American Idol is the most popular show in American television. It’s now on its Season 8 and it is the first time in American Idol History that they have the final 13 — and he’s Anoop “Dogg” Desai. Well, every season they change the manner of selection for the next American Idol.

What are we expecting on this Season? What songs we want to hear from these fellows? I listed my Top 10 Most Used Songs in American Idol. But of course, I chose my favorite among those renditions. ‘M hoping that whoever will use these songs again, they’ll give justice on it. Nail it, for godsake!

10. Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now) by Phil Collins. This was sung repetitively for six times, from Season 2 to Season 7. It was the choices of Corey Clark, George Huff, Jessica Sierra, Scott Savol, Ramiele Malubay and Katherine McPhee. For me, Katherine’s version is the best here.

9. Don’t Let the Sun go Down on Me by Elton John. What I love most on American Idol is when they feature a great singer and the finalists will have some choices on the famous songs on tracks. Amazingly, this Elton John’s song is the most popular song choice. It was the song choice of Justin Guarini, Clay Aiken, Jasmine Trias, Bo Bice and David Archuleta. I like most the version of Jasmin Trias. (Of course, support fellow countrymen)

8. Imagine by John Lennon. This was sung for 4 times from Ruben Studdard, Jennifer Hudson, Blake Lewis and David Archuleta. Well, David Archuleta made a mark on this song. He’s really great and that time, I was betting that he’s going to win. Too early to tell though.

7. A Broken Wing by Martina McBride. The most famous rendition of Jordin Sparks, I think. She sang this song twice on Season 7. Although this has been sung also by Diana DeGarmo and Jessica Sierra, still, Jordin is the best.

6. I Believe by Fantasia. Well, who’s going to beat the winning song? I really love this song and Fantasia’s interpretation. This was sung too by Diana DeGarmo, LaKisha Jones and Syesha Mercado.

5. I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing by Aerosmith. Another Idol winner, David Cook made a perfect impression on singing this song. This song I think is like an anthem now which was repetitively sung by Josh Gracin, Lindsey Cardinale and Antonella Barba on prior seasons.

4. One Last Cry by Brian McKnight. I love Camille Velasco. She’s really fantastic. Although, she didn’t make it that far on Season 3 and gave way to the fellow Filipino- Jasmine Trias, she’s really amazing. Her voice is unique. As described by Paula, she’s the next Lauryn Hill. This was sung also by Rickey Smith, Scott Savol and Kevin Covais.

3. Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland. Jason Castro’s rendition is an unexpected one. Well, its kinda expected in a way, coming from him coz he loves Reggae. I love this song, especially when this became the soundtrack of 50 first dates! This was sung also by Kimberley Locke and Katherine McPhee.

2. Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin. I should include Carrie Underwood on my list. This song is what I found out to be the Most Used one that Carrie sung on Season 4. It was sung too by Nikii McKibbin, Candice Coleman and Asia’h Epperson.

1. Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin. Well, what is American idol without Aretha Franklin and Kelly Clarkson. At first, I thought this was Celine Dion’s Original. I have her “My Heart Will Go” Album and this includes the “Natural Woman.” But, Kelly’s interpretation is the best. She’s so confident, pretty and great singer.
